How much does a deck, pergola or alfresco area cost?
A new deck typically runs $25,000 to $80,000 depending on size, height, materials and substructure. Gable-roofed alfresco additions start around $45,000 and rise with span and finishes. After a free site visit we provide a detailed, fixed-price quote covering materials, engineering and any council costs.
How long does an outdoor build take?
A standard deck or simple pergola is usually 2 to 4 weeks on site. A covered alfresco with engineered roofing and lighting runs 4 to 8 weeks. Lead times for engineering, certification and council approval (where needed) add 4 to 10 weeks ahead of construction.
Do I need council approval for a deck, pergola or alfresco?
Many low-rise decks and pergolas can be approved as Complying Development under the NSW Codes SEPP, which is faster and cheaper than a full DA. Larger or attached structures may need a DA. We handle the assessment, certifier liaison and any council lodgements as part of our service.
What materials do you build with?
For decks we work with premium hardwoods (Spotted Gum, Blackbutt), Accoya for stability, and composite boards for low-maintenance options. Pergolas and alfresco roofs use powder-coated steel framing, clear or insulated polycarbonate, and painted hardwood ceilings.
What about pool surrounds, glass balustrading and lighting?
We handle the full outdoor scope: pool coping, paving, glass balustrading, integrated lighting, ceiling fans, BBQ joinery and outdoor kitchens. We coordinate the pool installer, electrician and landscaper so you have one point of contact.
What warranties cover outdoor work?
You receive a 6-year structural workmanship warranty as required under the NSW Home Building Act, plus manufacturer warranties on every product. We use coated fixings and finishes rated for coastal exposure to maximise lifespan.

Corflute sheeting, drop cloths and door mats laid over every existing surface before tools come in. No scuffs, no dust trails, no end-of-job floor repairs to argue about.

Plastic sheeting on every threshold the trade isn’t actively working through. The unworked side of the home stays untouched, and your routine isn’t held hostage by the build.
Dust screens
Sealed zip-walls between live work zones and the rooms you keep using day to day. Sound stays in. Mess stays in. You stay sane.
Daily clean-down
Brooms, vacuums and skip bins at the end of every day. You wake up to a tidy site every morning, and the handover is genuinely handover-ready, not a punch list of touch-ups.
